New EP
2007-04-29 10:18:28
A brand new EP is in the making after finalizing the music for the film of the City College of Eindhoven (The Netherlands) which in fact was a great success.

The EP carries the working name "Time EP" and will have most of the usual ingredients however focussed on a blend between modern electronica, field recordings and acoustic material.

Meanwhile, enjoy these snippets

Expectations
2006-12-04 06:39:20
It has been some time now releasing stuff. This is all about my girl being pregnant, buying a house and moving from Tilburg to Breda at the same time. Sorry, I had no time to produce any songs.

What is down the pipeline :
- a score for a short movie made by a dear friend and the kids from the Stedelijk College in Eindhoven,
- a 4 track EP release on Kahvi or Monotonik (Nik, Simon be patient please) I got two songs, it depends on the other 2 not yet written tracks what netlabel should fit best. Maybe some tracks from the score will fit the EP or vice versa.

That's it for now. Please check out my LastFM page.

New release :: SinQ - Passage LP
2006-04-17 12:15:38
Finally it's here, the Passage LP.

Message>>
Another debut on Monotonik, and honestly, somewhat of a spectacular one from SinQ, aka Sander van Oirschot, a Dutch electronic musician who's produced, in his album 'Passage', one of our favorite works so far this year - and we're lucky enough to be able to release it for free, too!

Completely licensed via Creative Commons, and even using multiple CC-licensed recordings as samples, SinQ's blend of triphop, electronics, and ambient is evocative and beautiful, with first track 'Who's Afraid Of Noises?' using haunting female vocals, samples from noted Dutch jazz pianist Jeroen van Vliet, and a loping Bristolian sound to air things out in a rather wonderful way.

In general, it's either an ambient hush or gorgeous blisslike nu-chill, reminiscent of some of the best of the genre, with 'Be Brave' rinsing out the evocative, Overpass building up a kind of slow train groove, and 'Are You There?' leading up to a soundtrack high. Things all end out with 'Epiloque', again gorgeous, and really the epitome of what Monotonik has tried to provide for the last few years - the best headphone music you can find.

[Full credits for the album are available as a JPG cover piece alongside this release.]
Visit the Monotonik release page to download the complete album.

Look what i've found (2) Road to San Francisco
2005-10-30 09:32:14
[ THE ROAD TO SAN FRANCISCO ] #4
Friday, August 5th, 2005 at 12:00 pm

I tried to come up with a perfect mix to listen to during my drive to San Francisco from Los Angeles this coming monday, but I’m not sure what to make of this compilation. Some parts are bright, some parts are very dark. I used some good ambient tunes, but I also got a hold of some dark ambient sounds which I think work very well in this episode. This mix features the following artists:
# Rudiger Lippert - Cuckoo Remix (feat. Alex Myla on guitar)
# SoLaRiS - YATRA
# Engine7 - It was nice to be alive (but I really must be going home)
# Hexacatus - Of Darkness And Rain (Mourning Requiem)
# ABA STRUCTURE - Deep Step
# HALON - T.Rebel In Paradise
# SinQ - LoBrid
# Moozler - Patiently (Dream of Me)
# Claire Fitch - Calm Pad
# Stargarden - Millenia

2. David Martin Leon - Hamburg
3. Everybody loves Irene - Crop Circle Me
4. Agentff6600 - A brave new world
5. Tenali - Kora de la Noche

....The other band I have discovered (who has music available for download) is the single-member project called SinQ - his music is more laid back and loungy. This genre has become my new hit :)

New album in the making
2005-07-03 00:00:00
Yes, a new album is in the making. I want to add the following ingredients:
electronics, organics, a theme or concept, ambience, minimalism, experimentation, remixes and collaborations, cross-over between electronic ambient and jazzy grooves. Composition versus improvisation.
If you want to contribute to this album, get in touch !

Who's Afraid of Noises will be the opening track, shapes of HiBrid and LoBrid will be featured as well.

New releases:
2005-07-01 00:00:00
LoBrid - mp3
Deep electonic uptempo groove. Rock those bass bins ;)

HiBrid - mp3
A track pur sinq ;) with the usual ingredients, more electronic than previous releases.
lemme know what you think.

Who's Afraid of Noises? - mp3
The opening track of the forthcoming album release. Downtempo atmospheric groove. A trained ear will notice exerpts of the work of Jeroen van Vliet (www.jeroenvanvliet.com).

"mp3: some labels see the free audio idea as unprofessional
and inappropriate. i`d say screw that. couple of legal
downloads only makes one feel better about themselves and
their ipod..." It beats filesharing.

Enjoy and remember to give feedback.
